CARBON CREDITS
The carbon credit system allows for achievable sustainability and industry goals.
A carbon credit is a permit that allows a business or organization to produce a certain amount of carbon emissions. Carbon credits can be traded for purchase if the full allowance is not used.

When you have a carbon credit you have a certificate or permit that represents the legal right to emit one metric ton of carbon dioxide or an equivalent greenhouse gas.

CARBON OFFSETS
Carbon offsets are a practical and effective way to address climate change.
Like a carbon credit, a carbon offset also represents one metric ton of carbon dioxide or an equivalent greenhouse gas. It is generated by a reduction in emissions made by a voluntary reduction project.
When you buy an offset, you fund projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In short, carbon offsets compensate for or offset an emission made elsewhere.
